After the break, Regis and David talk about a little gift David's son, Sam, gave him as a good-luck present. It seems that Dad's favorite candies are Smarties. So, in preparation for David's appearance, Sam got him a package of Smarties to take with him.

Sam figures that it would make his father smarter during the game. Regis suggests he pops a couple now, especially since he's down to one Lifeline now.

It's quite obvious that Reege has been snacking on some of those Smarties; you can tell as he reads them when he's chewing or swallowing them. Anyways, it takes David a whopping 7 seconds to decide on A... But that will be his final answer. I hope David hasn't eaten up all the Smarties. He'll be needing them in the upper tier! David has won $32,000!!

For $64,000:
11. Who played the original Darrin on the classic TV sitcom 'Bewitched'?

David knows that the role was played by Dick Sargent and Dick York. The only question is, who replaced whom? After talking it over, he sides towards C... For his final answer. He seemed to have trouble early on in this game... But he's making up for it now! David's just won SIXTY-FOUR THOUSAND DOLLARS!!!

That's exactly what David was afraid of. David now explains the startegy he had before he came on the show. Quite simply, he said that he'd guess at this juncture if he thought he knew the answer. He does think he knows it, and he thinks it's B. And he will lock it in. As far as I'm concerned, it was a sound strategy. But you have to have the right answer for it to work. Which is exactly what David has! David wins ONE HUNDRED TWENTY-FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS!!!!

I forget who makes Smarties, but they're getting one heck of a product placement here. For someone who needed two Lifelines on the lower and middle tiers, David is showing remarkable staying power. Question is, will he stay long enough to answer two more questions correctly?
